Take The Time

Posted by: meekowl on: March 17, 2008

As you work your way through life,
take the time to sing some songs.
Don’t be afraid to speak your mind
or admit you might be wrong.

Take the time to pick a flower,
make love or make a friend.
Play with children, read a book;
the learning shouldn’t end.

Take the time to watch a sunrise,
or walk through a summer shower.
There’s nothing so important
that it cannot wait an hour.

Take the time to say “I’m sorry”
and learn how to forgive.
Let justice, love and loyality
dictate the way you live.

Take the time and use it well
or one day you will wake
to find that when you need it most
there’s no time left to take.

This has been one of my favorite poems since I was a teen. Thanks for giving us a place to go to read wonderful poetry.
