In Remembrance

Posted by: meekowl on: December 8, 2008

Do not stand by my grave and weep.
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the soft and drifting snow.
I am the gentle falling rain.
I am the sunlight on fields of grain.
Do not stand by my grave and weep.
I am not there; I do not sleep.
Do not stand by my grave and cry.
I am not there; I did not die.
I am the early morning’s hush.
I am the swift uplifting rush–
Of wild geese in their flight.
I am the twinkling stars at night.
Do not stand by my grave and cry.
I am not there; I did not die.
Take a breath and let me go.
Your heart should not be grieving so.
I am at my journey’s start.
If you need me search your heart; That is where I will be.
Until God brings you home to me.
Do not stand by my grave and weep.
I am not there; I do not sleep.
