I’ve ignored this little place for a while now. I just had to save something I got today. I don’t know why I love these types of things so much but I do.

Tequila and Salt

This should probably be taped to your bathroom mirror where one could read it every day. You may not realize it, but it’s 100% true.
1. There are at least two people in this world that you would die for.
2.. At least 15 people in this world love you in some way.
3. The only reason anyone would ever hate you is because they want to be just like you.
4. A smile from you can bring happiness to anyone, even if they don’t like you.
5. Every night, SOMEONE thinks about you before they go to sleep.
6. You mean the world to someone.
7. You are special and unique.
8. Someone that you don’t even know exists loves you.
9. When you make the biggest mistake ever, something good comes from it.
10. When you think the world has turned its back on you take another look.

11. Always remember the compliments you received.. Forget about the rude remarks.

And always remember… when life hands you Lemons, ask for Tequila and Salt and call me over!

Feb 24th Milestones

Feb. 24th you would have been 90 years old and married to your soul mate for 70 years. But you were taken from us 1 year and 3 months before that. Grandma is going to have a very difficult day being without you on what would have been major milestones. You are still sooo missed but in such a better place. You said so many times after your stroke that you wished you could walk again like everyone else could. Well, I have to believe that on 11/4/08 you started walking again and that you probably haven’t stopped; maybe even swinging that golf club again! Keep watching over me and being my guardian angel like I know you are.

Worrying, etc…

A while back someone said to me that worrying is a sin. I hadn’t ever heard that before and he went on to say that when we worry it’s like we aren’t trusting God to do what’s best for us. That made a lot of sense to me so I’ve been trying not to worry so much. It’s worked to a certain degree but I’m still not completely there yet.

Don’t they say, we make plans and God laughs. I have a feeling that might be true.

Let go and let God.

Here are a few other statements I came across today. Some are real gems others just make me smile.

Don’t let your worries get the best of you; remember, Moses started out as a basket case.

Some people are kind, polite and sweet-spirited until you try to sit in their pews.

Many folks want to serve God, but only as advisers.

It is easier to preach ten sermons than it is to live one.

When you get to your wit’s end, you’ll find God live there.

Opportunity may knock once, but temptation bangs on the front door forever.

God Himself doesn’t propose to judge a man until he is dead. So why should you?

Peace starts with a smile.

Coincidence is when God chooses to remain anonymous.

Don’t put a question mark where God put a period.

The Best Advice of 2009

I was going to delete this blog but then I came across this and I realized I need a place to keep these types of things. But first of all, I want to remember what my very wise Grandma said to me a couple weeks ago when I asked her for something. “Don’t ever be afraid to ask for what you want. That’s the only way you’ll get it.” For me the first sentence meant the most. Going after what you want. I don’t know if you always get what you ask for but you’ll rarely get what you want without making it clear you want it. Ok now on to the reason I came here in the first place.

First I was dying to finish high school and start college.
Then I was dying to finish college and start working.
Then I was dying to marry and have children.
Then I was dying for my children to grow old enough so I could go back to work.
But then I was dying to retire.
And now I am dying…and suddenly I realize I forgot to live.
Please don’t let this happen to you.
Appreciate your current situation and enjoy each day.

To make money you lose your health, and then to restore your health you lose your money.
We live as though we are never going to die, and we die as though we never lived.

HOW TO STAY YOUNG
1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay ‘them’
2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.
3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain idle. ‘An idle mind is the devil’s workshop.’
4. Enjoy the simple things.
5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.
6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person, who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive.
7. Surround yourself with what you love , whether it’s family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.
8. Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.
9. Don’t take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is.
10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.
AND ALWAYS REMEMBER :
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

We all need to live life to its fullest each day!!

Dream

I had such a nice dream last night. We ended up in the same place together. Your friend pointed out to you that I was there. You walked over and we talked and walls started coming down. We were sitting one person in front of the other. Kind of like being on the floor and me leaning back with my back against your chest, your arms around my waist. It felt so natural, comfortable, warm, safe, alone in a crowded room, like nothing could touch us…then I woke up.

Goals

I have some goals for my life. Things I need to do to be truly happy. First, I’ve taken the steps I need to take to lose some weight that has crept up on me lately. I am involved with a group of people who have set this same goal for themselves. I think in order to reach my other goals of love, companionship, finding some place that really feels like home, etc. I have to do this for myself because if I’m not happy with myself or the way I look then I won’t ever be ready for the rest.

Seattle my kind of town

I know the words are Chicago and not Seattle…I think I fell in love with a city. I could definately see me living there. I actually miss being there.
Reasons to move:
1) The Harbor
2) It’s an aerobic city which is really cool.
3) Taking a ferry to work instead of driving a car.
4) The seafood
5) The opportunities
6) It’s not where I’m living now
7) Never too hot or too cold
8 ) I just loved the whole vibe of the city
9) My midwestern palate would have to acquire a taste for Seattle food. Too many herbal flavors I just didn’t care for.
